Ryan is a Tampa native and graduate of Jesuit High School of Tampa. He has proudly coached chess for 15 years with 5 years of experience as a head coach. Some of his coaching accomplishments include 1st place team finishes at both the 2018 and 2019 Tampa Bay Annual All-Stars tournament in the K-1, K-3, and K-5 divisions (including a 1st place individual finish in the K-3 division in 2019), a 3rd place unrated individual finish at the 2018 National K-12 Grade Championships, top Florida team in the 3rd Grade division at the 2019 National K-12 Grade Championships, and a 1st place team and 1st place individual finish at the 2020 Florida State Sholastic Chess Championship.
Kai Tabor Coaching Specialist
Kai is a USCF Candidate Master and K-12 National Champion Team Coach. He has competed in hundreds of USCF tournaments across the county and tied for 3rd at K-12 Nationals in 2013 and 2014. He has coached Oak Hall’s national championship titled team to 4 national championships, 4 state championships, and a girls national scholastic championship between November 2017 and May 2019. He also coached Deer Park to a 1st place team and 1st place individual finish at the 2020 Florida State Scholastic Chess Championship.
Joshua Harrison Coaching Specialist
Josh is a USCF Candidate Master and K-12 National Champion Team Coach. He has played in hundreds of USCF tournaments, traveled across the country to compete, and at K-12 Nationals tied for 2nd and 4th respectively in 2003 and 2013. He has coached Oak Hall's team to 5 national championships, 6 state championships, and a girls national scholastic championship between August 2016 and May 2019. He also coached Deer Park to a 1st place team and 1st place individual finish at the 2020 Florida State Scholastic Chess Championship.
